Individual Report for the Assembly Line Lab
Each student must submit an individual report for the assembly line labs on Blackboard by the due date specified. You
can use the same diagrams and plots that you produced as a team in the lab, however you must write your own text. If it
is evident that you have not added sufficient supporting text to the report, you will have points deducted.
The following sections are required to be in your report. The image below is a guideline for how much space might be
used for each section. Including the cover page, your report should be at least 6 pages. Use a 12 pt. font, 1.5 spacing,
and 1” margins.
? Introduction: This should include a brief description of the assembly line project and the purposes for having
done it. Review the Introduction section in the Lab 2 Instructions.
? Requirements: Include the requirements (Functional and Non-Functional), calculations (Costs, Profits,
Throughput and Cycle Time, etc.), and business reasoning you created as part of your work for Lab 2. Add
whatever text is necessary to explain the calculations and the reasoning, and to make it read smoothly.
? System Model: Insert the connectivity graph of your go-cart assembly and the assignments of tasks to robots
that you created in Lab 3. Describe and justify your partitioning of the work required to assemble the go-carts.
Include any additional tables, charts, graphs, and text necessary to explain your reasoning.
? Analysis: Write and describe the formula you used in Lab 3 to evaluate the efficiency of your model
(partitioning). Give and explain your calculations for the efficiency of your assembly line. Also, describe any
adjustments you made to the model because of your analyses.
? Implementation: Describe once again (since you are now describing the final setup of your assembly line) how
your assembly line is set up (number of robots, the steps required to complete go-cart assembly through the
assembly line). Include a link or reference to the assembly instructions created by your team. Do not include the
instructions in your report.
? Measured Performance: Provide and describe measurements taken during Task 2 in Lab 4.
? Conclusion: Tell how your group and you individually met the purposes of Labs 2-4. Tell what things you would
have done differently, what difficulties you encountered, what requirements you liked or didn’t like, etc.
