Topic: SPSS 1 & SPSS 2
Order Description
In each assignment (SPSS 1 & SPSS 2) be sure to describe what test you are using and why, also be sure to describe, test, and explain the appropriate assumptions for your test based on your reading from the text (there are 4 main ones usually)
For first page ( I have attached the output and descriptions for the SPSS 1 assignments)…
SPSS 1
For this assignment you will be using the output provided to do two analyses, a single sample t-test and an independent samples t-test. For each test please follow this outline
Introduction – Describe the sample, what test you will be doing, and what the test means/does.
Methods – Describe your variables (what is the scale range, meaning, etc., levels of grouping variable)
Descriptive Table/s – Descriptive from the independent and dependent variables copied from SPSS
Interpretation of descriptive tables
Restate your test and what it will be doing
Important test tables – keep it simple, do not repeat information that was presented in your descriptive tables, only include tables that you explain in the following text.
Results – description of test results – include group means for comparison if necessary, significance values
Discussion – Explain the conclusions of your test to the reader. Include a “take away” message or interpretation.
1. For the single sample t-test you will be looking at grandmother age (Aged) and testing whether or not grandmothers are younger or older than an age of retirement at 62.
2. For the independent samples t-test you will be testing to see whether male and female grandchildren (Childgender; 0=male, 1=female) differ in their grandmother reported negative conduct behaviors (SDQConduct; larger values indicate more conduct behavior problems)
Conduct problems Scale (added together to get Conduct scale)
ITEM 5: Often has temper tantrums or hot tempers (I get very angry)
ITEM 7: Generally obedient… (I usually do as I am told) Reverse scored
ITEM 12: Often fights with other children… (I fight a lot)
ITEM 18: Often lies or cheats (I am often accused of lying or cheating)
ITEM 22: Steals from home, school or elsewhere (I take things that are not mine)
Here are links to the procedures for doing the two tests.

For the second page ( I have attached the output and descriptions for SPSS 2 assignments)..
SPSS 2
For this assignment you will be using the Geology class data output to do an ANOVA. Follow the same format listed below.
1. For the ANOVA you will be testing students perceptions of Instructor enthusiasm (ETLQ Perception Staff) across the three teachers (Teacher). First test the overall model and then do a Bonferonni post hoc. This is pretty much the same as a T-test, only you now have three groups instead of two.
