Addressing the Needs of Diverse Learners

Imagine that you have a class with general education students, English Language Learners (ELLs), exceptional students who have physical disabilities, visual impairments, hearing impairments, speech and language impairments, and cognitive and learning disabilities, and other students with various differences (including ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic).

After reading the lecture notes in Module 7 and further researching the topic, post a four-paragraph comment in the discussion board explaining:

the particular strategies and technologies that you would use to teach ELLs in your content area
the particular universal design principles, strategies, accommodations, and assistive technologies that you would use to teach exceptional students
the particular strategies and technologies that you would use to teach other diverse students (in examples, ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic differences)
how the above would support the academic needs of your students
