      Pick 3 of the assigned readings from part III of the course: 1) Alison Rowland on indigenous policing (policía comunitaria), 2) Steven Levitsky and Kenneth Roberts on the Left turn, and 3) Brian Wampler and Leonardo Avritzer on participatory budgeting How do the phenomena described in the 3 readings you’ve chosen relate to some of the dynamics we discussed in parts 1 and 2 of this course (clientelism, populism, decentralization)? In your view, do these more recent phenomena succeed or fail in challenging the various practices and processes you studied in weeks 1-5 (clientelism, populism, decentralization)? How so, and in what ways? Be as concrete as possible in your answers, with specific examples to ground your argument.
