Topic: The relationship between infection levels in schistosomiasis and polymorphisms in some human interleukin genes
Paper details:
TITLE: The relationship between infection levels in schistosomiasis and polymorphisms in some human interleukin genes.
The specific objectives are:
1. To determine prevalence and intensity of schistosomiasis among study subjects.
2. To genotype some polymorphisms in IL-4, IL-5 and IL-13 genes
3. To determine the relationship between schistosome infections and polymorphisms in the
IL-4, IL-5, IL-10 and IL-13 genes
4. To measure the concentrations of IL-4, IL-5, IL-10 and IL-13 in the plasma of study subjects.
5. To determine the protective role of blood groups of individuals against schistosomiasis
6. To measure total and schistosome specific levels of IgE, IgG1, IgG4 and IgA in the plasma of study subjects.
7. To assess individual and synergistic roles of IL-4, IL-5, IL-10 and IL-13 concentration, and IgE, IgG and IgA levels in plasma in relation to intensity of Schistosoma infection
