"Black box?"
Why have scholars of comparative politics often lumped all authoritarian countries into a “black box?” To avoid lumping authoritarian regimes into a single “black box,” what are four key questions we can ask that help us to better understand them? In your answer to the two questions above, give at least one concrete example of each of the following types of authoritarian regimes: Totalitarian regime; constitutional oligarchy; tutelary regime; theocratic regime, sultanistic regime/ personalistic dictatorship; single-party regime; bureaucraticauthoritarian regime; and competitive authoritarian regimes.
