Child Development

Part A: Child Development
For this module you will visit several websites and go through the different pictures of fetal development.
For each of the three activities/websites listed below, use Microsoft Word to turn in at least THREE sentences regarding the information you read. For example, did the information help clarify material within the module, how a figure helped clarify a topic, how this would relate to you working in a classroom, etc. You will NOT receive credit for saying that you didn’t learn anything new!

Activity 1:
http://americanpregnancy.org/while-pregnant/fetal-development/
Read through the trimesters at different weeks to see when things develop

Activity 2:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RS1ti23SUSw
Video of a developing baby. Watch through the birth portion – around 3.5 minutes

Activity 3:
http://www.asha.org/public/speech/development/chart.htm
Click through the different ages for expected development in hearing/understanding and talking. This is also available in Spanish if a family might find it helpful.

Part B
Use Word Microsoft to turn in at least THREE sentences regarding the information you read. For example, did the information help clarify material within the module (and how), how a figure helped clarify a topic, etc.

Part C
Choose ONE of the syndromes/disorders. Use Word Microsoft to type at least TWO-THREE sentences regarding the information you read. For example, have you worked kids with the disorder or had any personal experiences that the material helped clarify? (remember – do NOT give any kind of identifying information if you talk about personal experiences with people you have worked with); What are the most salient points that will help you as you work with a child with that particular disorder in the future?
