Childhood education
This week you read about numerous factors used to determine if a child is “at risk.” Some of these factors
include teen parents, living at or below the poverty level, parental education levels, and abusive relationships.
These factors have the potential to contribute to future problems, if interventions are not made (Follari, 2019).
The Head Start program was created as an early intervention service designed to help counteract the impact of
these factors and provide positive opportunities for children and families.
Once you have completed the readings, please respond to the following questions:
1.Identify the risks associated with teenage pregnancies and describe how Early Head Start seeks to address
these issues.
2.In your opinion, how can Head Start benefit at-risk students?
