Sex and gender are often confused. Do you agree?
You must use and explain a minimum of three key terms taken from that week’s reading for your question response.
“Most sociological theories of gender tend towards the social constructionist end of the spectrum of sex/gender theories. At the other end of the spectrum are theories that are classified under biological determinism. These theories consider gender to be a natural consequence of biology — for example Darwinian theories holding that differences between men and women make evolutionary sense. From a biological determinist perspective, we come to be masculine or feminine due to the influence of different hormones, brain structures and other physical characteristics of sex; biology is considered destiny.” (P. 123)
