CULTURAL AWARENESS

• Conduct research about an African American artist or an artist of the African diaspora with the following criteria: (1) the background, (2) the contribution, (3) the impact, and (4) the framework. Use the following guidelines as outlined the rubric. o Provide a thorough overview of the historical context and or setting of the individual, organization or event including pertinent names, places, and times about African Americans or people from the African diaspora. o Evaluate the contributions with all major and minor accomplishments of an individual, group or organization of African Americans or people from the African diaspora on the field. o Critique the impact of an individual, group or organization of African Americans or people from the African diaspora in society by listing all the achievements and the extent to which those achievements benefitted society or the community. o Analyze how this knowledge informs or influences their personal framework regarding African American or people from the African diaspora in at least 4 ways.
