Cultural Practices

      For this project you will think about the various cultures you live your life in. Looking at these intersections, you will consider what the practices of these cultures are that we actively participate in and what are the cultural practices you don’t/do subconsciously. Why is this awareness important? From this discussion, you will choose one (or a series of related) practice(s) to research further. Is this practice unique? Does it vary from culture to culture? When did this practice begin? And more. You will utilize your research to weave a narrative of your experience and the research that you find. You will most likely have to get creative in the ways you research for this project and socially distant interviews are required. Please remember to do any form of communication socially distant and taking into account the current pandemic situation. I highly recommend email or phone/zoom/skype calls for these interviews. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Lastly, you will write a 1 page reflection regarding what you learned and connections you can make to scholarly research. Please include your reflection at the end of your draft with a heading that is clear such as: Reflection Questions: What did you find easy about this writing? What did you find difficult? What did you learn about your practice that surprised you? What connections do you see between what you learned and your experiences in college so far?
