Daily poems journal

POEM OF THE DAY: WRITING FIVE DAYS A WEEK (40 points) 1 point each; 5 entries each week, due at the latest on Sunday evening. It’s better to
do the reading as it arrives,) When a poem includes the poet reading the poem, listen while you read along. This will take 2 minutes, often less, and
you will find it helpful to your understanding the poem—sometimes in a way you had not considered when you read it yourself.
Four poems will arrive (by email) each day. Read them all. If any of the authors included a comment that belongs in the “What is poetry?” list that you
are keeping, record that comment.
Choose one poem to write about (five poems per week). Name the title, author, series and date received for each poem in your daily writing. Provide
a link to the poem.
Write 3 or 4 sentences about each poem, indicating its subject and tone. In this poem, what sparks your interest? Look for elements that you read
about in the textbook (e.g., metaphor, simile, repetition, rhyme, interesting uses of enjambment and line breaks)
