Introduction The Oxford Dictionary defines bias as Definition of bias as the “inclination or prejudice for or against one person or group, especially in a way considered to be unfair, a direction diagonal to’. As demonstrated by Bazerman & Moore (2013), applying selective heuristics is difficult because we, as humans, are unaware of our decision-making process. Our week 2 assignment will allow us to understand and analyze research to bias.
Activity Instructions At the conclusion of Chapter 3 in Bazerman & Moore (2013), there are twelve (12) biases presented that range from availability heuristic to representativeness heuristic to confirmation heuristic bias. Choose one to research and analyze. Provide a summary of the bias with supporting research. Include at least one example (or more). Be sure to include possible consequences to the bias and possible recommendations for avoidance.
