    ”MARACANA- RIO DE JANEIRO” Project organisation: Members : 1. 2. 3. Objective: The objective is to create the MARACANA football ground in CATIA V5. It must be able to change and the following features: Features Parameters Data type Distance between the beams Beam_distance length Structure height Structure_height string Shape of structure Shape_structure string Number of tiers(stands) Nr_tier integer Number of lights Nr_lights integer Description: This project includes designing the playing field, the roof, the tiers (stands) and the façade. The structure base will be in a circular shape with the roof in a form of a spline with a hollow shape in a form of a circle. The tiers will follow the shape of the roof. Two tiers will be created for this football stadium. The tiers will be divided into 20-25 sections of seating arrangements for both upper tier and lower tier respectively. The beams for support will be placed between the roof and the tiers. There will be beams connected between the roof which will have the floodlights. The height of the structure would be around 15m. Method: • Understanding the construction of the football ground by looking at the similar pictures • Create a rough model. • Divide the structure of the ground into 4 parts i.e. the playing field, the roof, the tiers and the facade. • Create parameters. • Dividing the work into group members to work effectively and quicker. • Designing the model according to the parameters. • Assemble all parts and products. • Write the code, rules and create a user interface in excel. • Fixed formula functions and instructions with power-copy. Goals for Grades: For Grade 3: To achieve grade 3, the aim is to construct the MARACANA by having some adjustments with the structure i.e. the height and the shape of the football stadium. The use of different relations, formula functions and the rule functions will be used depending on the inputs to the model. The use of powercopy instantiations for positioning the seating arrangements, the support beams to the roof and also the support beam between roof having the floodlights will be modelled. The input parameters will be given in excel and then exported to CATIA. At the end of the project, a PowerPoint presentation will be created for making the project best understandable to the examiners. Tools used: 1. Formula function. 2. Rules function. 3. PowerPoint for presentation.   For Grade 4: To achieve Grade 4, we use the same method and powercopies as used for grade 3 but it will be automated.
