Developing a business strategy

Identify a company that has been purchased (via a merger and acquisition) in the last three to five years. What do you believe was the strategic vision for that purchase? How has the company changed over time? Once you have selected a company to discuss, find and read articles about that merger and acquisition. In 300-400 words (double-spaced), use the information you discovered and apply insights from this week’s course content to complete and answer the following prompts: Trace the steps that are commonly followed when developing a business strategy Predict how profitability may be threatened when a company does not implement a new business strategy to meet changing market needs Identify the differences between shareholders, stakeholders, and investors, then explain how these three groups could have competing priorities Form conclusions about the value of having a corporate strategy as an integrated, ongoing part of the business process Identify issues or misunderstandings that can be avoided by implementing a company strategy to address changing financial and market conditions
