What is the role of media in political corruption cases? Can the medium remain neutral and report fairly and accurately or is there an inherent bias built in to the
system? The following videos and readings focus on the case of former Pennsylvania judges who were indicted by a federal Grand Jury. KIDS FOR CASH documents the
Pennsylvania scandal of selling children into the prison system at the hands of corrupt Judge Mark Arthur Ciavarella, Jr. How Ciavarella got embedded with the
privatized prison system, how children were profited off of, and the plight of the imprisoned minors. Please discuss the role of the media in all of this. Should the
Media have reported earlier or kept quiet until the investigation was completed? What about once the charges were made? Was the media fair to the government? The cash
for kids’ judges? Feel free to bring up other cases in which the media either did a good job or perhaps not such a good job or add your opinion on how things should
have been handled. Videos to view Below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvXUzpYRfVU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4ZGN_-U-9I http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
