Week 4 Discussion: Diving Into Excel (Beginner's Perspective)

This week's readings on Excel were a great introduction to data analysis and visualization! There were definitely some things I hadn't grasped before.

One concept that stood out to me was using filters in Excel. I didn't realize how powerful they could be for quickly focusing on specific data sets within a larger spreadsheet. Being able to analyze trends or patterns within a filtered group seems really useful.

To prepare for using Excel in our project, I think familiarizing myself with some basic formulas would be helpful. The readings mentioned things like SUM and AVERAGE, which seem like good starting points. Maybe I can find some online tutorials or practice exercises to get more comfortable applying these formulas to analyze data.

Finally, since I'm new to using Excel for data analysis, collaborating with my group feels like a huge advantage. By working together, we can learn from each other. If someone in the group is more experienced with Excel, they can explain the functions and help me understand how to apply them to our project data. In return, I can contribute my strengths in other areas to make the project a success!
