Find someone to interview who has had personal experience with drug addiction. Ideally this is someone who is recovering from an addiction, however, you may also use a professional who works with addicts or someone who has been close to someone with a drug addiction problem. Devise a list of questions you will ask this individual to gain a more in-depth view of addiction and conduct an interview. Upon completion of the interview analyze the information you received then write and turn in your assignment via the dropbox in D2L in word or open office format.
Address the following components for your assignment:
1. What were the factors that led to addiction and how do those correlate with factors presented in the book as components of addiction?
2. What impact did the drug of choice have on the individual and how did that alter the individuals’ life? (i.e. could you see reasons why the individual picked a stimulant vs. a depressant or visa versa? etc.)
3. What factors led to recovery; was there a major milestone or turning point, certain individuals who helped?
4. Summarize your findings including what new or noteworthy information you gleaned from the interview, how the information might be used to prevent drug use or to help others and what you learned overall from this experience.
