Early confederation

During early confederation, the development of social work changed from Addam’s settlement house
movement and political social reform to Richmond’s scientific standards for individualized casework and
professionalism. Both individual’s practices were shaped by their upbringing and life experiences. In what ways
can both Addams and Richmond’s outlooks on social work be applied to present day issues? How is your life
experience shaping your desire to be a social worker?
