Effective communication with diverse families

Monday night you meet with a family who only speaks Spanish. Tuesday night you have an appointment with a child who has special needs. In this day and age, educators need the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of families. Diverse families have ever changing needs. Identify and describe one key strategy you plan to use – or have used – for communicating with all kinds of families in a diverse environment. Address the role of collaboration and professional resources to help you support the families in the program.
