For my argument paper, I would like to argue the ethical/legal issue that pertains to HIPAA/privacy laws about (as a health care professional) being able to disclose certain information. For example, I think it is immoral to legally have to keep information private from ones significant other or intimate partners if one has come up positive with a lethal STD.The CDC does not allow code-based systems reporting of HIV. Massachusetts is one of the nine code-based systems in this country. This system prevents physicians and public health officials from contacting those who have had sexual contact or shared needles with an HIV positive person. I would like to not only talk about HIV but also any other STD that may be imminent. rubric: Quality of Research Worth 20% --Sources reliable and properly cited in-text. --All information relevant to topic. --Sufficient information provided to support all elements of topic. --Research in-depth and the beyond the obvious, revealing new insights gained.
