Ethical principles and code of conduct

Aside from general ethical principles and code of conduct, there are four main ethical issues that specifically relate to clinical psychology research. These are: 1. Informed consent. 2. Avoidance of harm. 3. Privacy. 4. Review by the academic ethics committee and/or governing health authority or hospital ethics committee.   - Consider the following cases and explain how the four issues relate to each situation. - For each issue, 3 to 4 questions should be formatted according to the case, and these questions should be answered and explained. - For example: Issue No.2 Avoidance of Harm: Q\ What do you see the limit of exposure to harm for participant? A\ Participants should not be exposed to risks that are greater or greater than those faced in their usual lifestyles. Issue No.3 Privacy: Q\Will you share what you have discussed with participants to their parents? A\ Different states have different ages at which, without telling parents, young people may seek mental health services. In most cases, when a minor seeks psychotherapy services, an adult is involved. Psychologists want young people to feel comfortable expressing their emotions and to value their privacy with caution. The infant, parent, and counselor would also sit down together at the first psychotherapy session to discuss ground rules for privacy.
