Ethnography project for Chinese Buddhism - Hsi Lai Temple

Description

Five pages is a guideline for the main body of the report: roughly, dedicate 1-1½ pages max for the background, and 3-4 pages describing your cultural experience. Add to it endnotes, appendix pages for elaborations, pictures, charts, etc., the References Cited., and the bibliography.
1) Give a brief account of the religion’s history, beliefs & key/general practices (at least two sources: - can use "Stein & Stein 2nd ed-pdf chapter 8 attached - page 172 and chapter 1.)

2) Describe the temple site: give its address & location. Describe the layout, architecture, design, etc. Photos welcomed—place them at the end with descriptive, identifying labels and the date they were taken (website: http://www.hsilai.org/)

3) Describe the context of the event you are attending. What is the event about, and what are the place’s key features, images or symbols that stood out to you? ->( I'll give brief information).

4) Describe the people you met: State their position, age, gender, and their attitudes toward their faith, etc. Give your overall impressions—did you feel welcomed? Or if you felt uncomfortable, explain why? ->(I'll give brief information)

5) Describe your research methods—how you went about conducting your ethnography, and how it worked for you. Explain your data collecting methods, the kind of data you were able to obtain, and what you learned:
a. What did you find out about the culture, organization or belief system? How did this help you understand better the culture and its belief system?
b. From an anthropological perspective, what insights did you gain about the people from their (the emic) point of view and how they practice their culture and beliefs?
