You will be required to choose
one aspect of health from the following:
Diet
Exercise
Smoking
Substance use

Briefly outline why your chosen aspect is important and how it affects health. You
should draw on some data (from a published source) that confirms that your chosen
aspect has a detrimental effect on health
2.
Your essay will then identify two social factors
that affect health; for example you
could choose from the following but there are others: housing, employment, income,
ethnicity, gender. Relate the factors you select to your chosen aspect of health.

Your essay will then identify two psychological factor
s that influence our health
behaviours; for example you could choose prejudice, cognition, memory, aggression,
attitude. Likewise, relate the factors you select to your chosen aspect of health and
identify how these factors can influence individual unders
tanding of health, and
subsequent behaviour.
4.
Your essay must have a clear introduction, a main body and a conclusion. You need to
show that you have drawn on some independent reading and referenced this
appropriately.
