Exploring our physical, cultural, and cognitive evolution as a species

Given that we have been exploring our physical, cultural, and cognitive evolution as a species, we can now turn to matters of the "soul". I now challenge you to think deeply about the following question:

How does the archaeological record of this Unit exhibit the evolution and development of the modern human "soul"?

You should answer this question in 350-450 words. Within your answer, be sure to:

  • Accurately use three examples of material remains (artifacts, ecofacts, features, skeletal remains) that you learned about within the course content of Unit II. Anything within Unit II is fair game (your assigned textbook educational materials, slideshows, links embedded within slideshows).
  • Compare your prehistoric/ancient examples pulled from your Unit II course content with one example of how you display your "soul" as a human today in 2020. Include a photo and/or video that you feel best represents you displaying your "soul."
  • As always, be specific and scientific. Use clear language that is free from errors.

One thing to keep in mind is that the definition of the word "soul" is up to you and your interpretation! Figure out what it means to you and how you can apply this definition to our ancient human past.
