First amendment

      “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” — Bill of Rights, ratified Dec. 15, 1791 The First Amendment guarantees freedom of expression in this country. It was developed and drafted two centuries ago in reaction to an authoritarian government that restricted the freedom of its citizens. What does it mean to you as an individual?
