Flow of Products
Consumers rarely know the steps taken to move a product from the manufacturer into their hands. The first step in understanding this process is learning the
definitions of retail, wholesaling, and logistics. However, to manage these processes, a deeper level of knowledge is needed. Technology has drastically changed the
way distribution channels operate. As part of the 4Ps, place (commonly known as distribution today) decisions have added e-commerce to the decision process. E-commerce
allows small companies to sell globally and retailers to diversify by including online sales to their brick and mortar store sales. Staying abreast of the newest
retailing, wholesaling, and logistics as well as thoroughly analyzing possible selling channels are crucial skills for all managers. Objectives • Examine how companies
manage the flow of products and services from production to the final consumer. (6.2) Instructions 1. In a 2-3 page paper, analyze the flow of products from the
production to the final consumer for the company selected in Week One. (Company is Amazon) 2. A minimum of three references is required.
