Functionalism

          Fodor sees functionalism as the guiding philosophy behind research in artificial intelligence. Yet Searle finds the Turing Test for artificial intelligence to be behavioristic. Could they both be right? Do you see behaviorism and functionalism as similar in some way? Explain. Do you find either of them to be a helpful guide in studying human intelligence? Or is there something about our mental lives that neither of them can explain?
