Part 1:
Main Elements of Grant Proposal Power Presentation
You will make a presentation of your proposal for the class highlighting why your Grant proposal should be funded. The class will represent the Board of Trustees.
Visual materials should be used in the presentation ALONG WITH SPEAKER NOTES

Part 2: (6-8 pages)
For your Grant Writing Proposal Sections, you will start by creating a fictitious school. You will only need to write a brief one page description of some of the
sections you would include in an actual grant proposal for this assignment. Please do not feel that you need to include all the information in the Porter textbook. You
will read the chapters and provide a condensed sample to demonstrate your understanding in summary form.
ABSTRACT/EXECUTIVE SUMMARY AND PROJECT NEEDS SECTION
1. FIRST , YOU WILL name your fictitious school, WRITE YOUR COVER PAGE WITH THIS FICTITIOUS SCHOOL AND GRANT PROPOSAL WITH YOUR NAME AND DATE
and
2. Write your ABSTRACT /EXECUTIVE SUMMARY FOR THIS PRETEND SCHOOL (THIS WILL BE THE FIRST PAGE OF YOUR GRANT PROPOSAL (USE CHAPTER V PAGES 91-95 as your guide)
3. Identify AND Write your imaginary PROJECT NEEDS SECTION from the following list (your choice):

4. Write your One Page PROJECT NEEDS SECTION (USE CHAPTER V PAGES 96-98 as your guide)
Include Problem Statement/Purpose Statement/Description of Needs
Note: simply tell what your problem is, what the purpose of the grant will be (what will you get with the funds) and a description in detail of why you believe this
will solve the problem.
PROGRAM DESIGN SECTION
5. Now you will write the PROGRAM DESIGN SECTION (USE CHAPTER V PAGES 99- 107 as your guide)
This will include your Goals/Objectives/ and Strategies sections as headers and must be 1-2 pages
What do you want to accomplish once you get the funds, what objectives will you meet, and what strategies will you use to make sure there is improvement
HOW YOU WILL EVALUATE SECTION
6. Next you will write an EVALUATION SECTION (USE CHAPTER V PAGES 108-111 as your guide)
In this section you will write one page to tell how you will evaluate whether the grant money was used effectively to meet your needs. How will you determine whether
it was successful.
Due in Week 6: BUDGET AND RESOURCES SECTION
7. In this section you will write 1-2 pages to describe what resources you currently have, how much money you currently have including parent donations and tell how
much money you need from the grant (USE CHAPTER V PAGES 111-115 as your guide) Note: remember you are just creating your fictitious scenario.
