Health Care Management Ethics and Law

Film Choices: Still Alice (2014) Many films depict the complexities of ethics in health care where patients, families, and health care professionals sometimes face difficult decisions about medical treatments that involve moral principles, religious beliefs, or professional guidelines. This medium will be used as a resource to provide a means for you to apply what you’ve learned in this course regarding ethics. The purpose of this assignment is to bring relevance and application to the information you have learned in this course specifically relating to ethical dilemmas. A film analysis is not a review or summary of the plot, it should go deeper into analysis and reaction. It should discuss the issues raised by the film, address the film’s importance and purpose, state reactions to the content and quality of the film, and connect it to ideas and material presented in class. Your film analysis of 3 to 5 pages should include discussion of the ethical situation(s) encountered by the film characters, the decision(s) made from those situations, and an evaluation of the decision(s) based on ethical theories and concepts presented in this course. Additionally, based on your analysis, if the decision(s) made in the film were not ethical, you should include information on what decision(s) you would have made with the supporting reason(s) for them. Please be sure to follow APA Guidelines for reference citations, and contain concepts from the reading materials and application to reality‐based scenarios. Use the textbook and additional readings to supplement your analysis of the film. You analysis should be approximately 3-5 pages excluding the cover page. APA style and form are expected. Please also take time to proof read your paper for spelling and grammatical errors.
