Health Habit Project

For the second and final part of your Health Habit Project, you are going to reflect on your process of health-related behavior change throughout the semester, applying ideas and concepts from the course. This assignment should be approximately four pages long – 1 page for each of the sections noted below. Edit for clarity and conciseness to satisfy all prompts below within this space. First, you will provide a progress update and will include the relevant data you have collected, or a clear summary of the data if you prefer. You will then engage in applied analysis of your experience, using specific course concepts to understand your behavior change process through the frameworks of lifestyle medicine. Lastly, you will engage in thoughtful reflection about your experience. The reflection component is more open-ended and fluid than the first three components noted above. It is a space for you to explore and express aspects of your process that were not captured in the update, data, or analysis sections. Simple progress update • What has occurred in your behavior change process since writing HRB Experience Part 1? • Did any obstacles or challenges arise? If so, how did you navigate them? • What resources did you utilize? • What resources might have been available and helpful that were not utilized? • What prevented your utilization of these resources? • Which aspects of your goal, if any, do you feel you successfully fulfilled? Data measurement and tracking methods • Include the data you collected, or a clear summary of the data. • What was most helpful to you about tracking and compiling this data? What was surprising? • What did you learn about data collection that you can apply in future personal or professional endeavors? Applied analysis • Identify, explain, and discuss at least two distinct course concepts from weeks 1-10 of the class as well as two distinct concepts from the behavior change theories in weeks 11-13 of the class. • Clearly connect each concept to some aspect of your own HRB experience this semester. Reflection • Consider your overall experience with the process of setting a goal, determining methods for behavior change and data tracking, changing your healthrelated behaviors, adjusting goals as needed, navigating barriers, and utilizing resources. What stands out? What have you learned about yourself and your lifestyle? How were your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors affected?
