Instructional objectives
Description: Instructional objectives are key to effective instruction. Effective instruction occurs only when
student behavior is changed in desired ways.
Directions:
1. Select a current State Standard (Florida) from one the following areas:
Language Arts
Mathematics
Science
Social Science
2. You will write two (2) instructional objectives for the cognitive domain, one (1) psychomotor objective, and
one (1) affective objective.
3. You will need to first determine the learning outcomes- What do you expect the student to be able to do
when the lesson is over? You will then need to follow the ABCDs of writing an instructional objective:
A – Audience (The student will...)
B – Behavior (The verb that describes what the audience will be able to do after the lesson is taught)
C – Condition (The circumstances under which the outcome will be carried out)
D – Degree (The standard to which the audience must meet for acceptable performance
