Interviewing a woman in a leadership position
Interview a woman in a leadership position within an organization about her experience in leadership. Utilize some concepts drawn on from the class readings. For example, you might want to ask about any outside-of-work responsibilities and how those (caregiving responsibilities etc) have helped or caused problems in her professional role, how others perceive her leadership, how she perceives her leadership traits, how she dealt with a professional crisis, etc. Then, write up your findings from your interview in a narrative, where you relate her experiences to the readings we have completed thus far.
b) If you cannot interview a woman in a leadership position, then research a woman in a leadership position (a few possible names are Mary Barra, the CEO of General Motors, Indra Nooyi, former CEO of Pepsico, or Angella Merkel, Chancellor of Germany). Describe the person's leadership style, specific challenges she faced and how they were handled, what type of qualities she displayed. Note: You can probably even find an interview of whoever you choose via an online source such as youtube
