Objective: Examine the organizational issues involved in employee and labor relations.
Introduction: Competitive and sustainable companies have developed an internal culture with a value system that ensures a cohesive and productive working environment. This environment increases positive employee productivity and well-being. If conflicts arise, companies are better prepared for various mediation strategies to resolve disputes. This essay will allow you to explore the concepts and theories of organizational culture and the concepts of mediation.
Deliverables: The essay for this lesson is required to be a minimum of 750 words that clearly demonstrate your understanding of the activity. Essays should have a clear introduction, thesis statement and conclusion, written in APA format (APAstyle.org). A minimum of three sources, at least two from the lesson, must be cited in-text and in the Reference list.

Step 1: Read the following questions and use what you have learned about this lesson's objective to prepare your responses.
What type of organizational culture would you want to work in?
What would be the critical factors used to implement and maintain that organizational structure?
What effect would it have on your health and well-being? Include the structure and design of the ideal organization in your response.
You are a manager working in the organizational culture/structure you just described. You are experiencing conflict among some of the employees on your labor-union team.
What factors do you need to know regarding elements of the conflict?
When would mediation be necessary to help reach an agreement between these employees? Why would mediation be preferable to arbitration?
