Language acquisition stages.
Identify 4 students in your current classroom who exhibit behaviors associated with each of the language acquisition stages.
Note: If you do not have an individual representative of each stage, create a hypothetical scenario to describe a fictitious student's behavior associated with the stage's characteristics.
Create a chart that includes the following elements for each of the 4 students:
Student name (remember to use fictitious names)
State of language acquisition for each student
Include skills exhibited in each of the 4 components of language arts: reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Rationale for why you believe each student is at the specified level of language acquisition
You may include artifacts, literacy skills (both receptive and expressive), gestures, and other ways that students demonstrate literacy abilities.
Explain where each student is in the cognitive process of language rules.
