Learning theories and theorists

  Several different learning theories and theorists are discussed in this week's reading. Select two that resonate most with you. Find one outside academic source discussing each. Discuss the following: • What resonates the most with these two? • A brief overview in your own words of each • A comparison and contrast of each • How each will guide you as an Early Childhood Educator. Discuss the developmental stages of play by examining NAEYC's position on the role of play in early education. • Compare the theorist's views on play (Erikson, Piaget, and Vygotsky) • Developmental stages of play and which stages are you most and least comfortable supporting as an educator? Why? In response to your peers, reflect on the theories presented and how they compare or contrast to those you presented.
