a. What do you make of the play's depiction of women? Are they strong powerful individuals capable of bringing about change or is Aristophanes mocking them? Consider our discussion last week of the roles women played in Greek society and keep in mind that this play is a comedy.
b. Do you think Aristophanes is calling for an end to all wars or simply this particular war? Is there a message of pacifism in the play or does it condone violence and war?
