For this assignments students are required to write a 1-2 page reflection paper about one of the films we have watched in class.
Students should NOT write a summary of the film. Rather, students must discuss and reflect on prominent themes or examples in the film -- and explain how they illustrate topics or concepts addressed in, or relevant to, class. For example, How might Paris is Burning illustrate the experience of the LGBTQ community in the past or present -- or perhaps intersect with themes discussed by Esther Newton?
This is a SHORT paper. Students should focus on only one key concept. Students should not be anxious about this paper. Students should use this paper as an opportunity to think deeply about a particular film and reflect on how that film changed their understanding of some aspect of human sexuality.
