Choose a movie that revolves around a myth (it may be a myth that we have covered so far in the
semester, however feel free to choose any myth you would like). You will then research
the original story behind the myth and compare and contrast the movie to the actual
myth. The presentation should be a PowerPoint with at least 10 slides (with substantial
information on each). Please also include a properly formatted Works Cited page at
the end of the presentation. You will be marked down if you do not provide proper
citations, and if you only submit the URL links to the websites or sources used.
The Works Cited page is not to be included in the 10 slide requirement. You will
be required to use at least 4 sources. Wikipedia is not counted as a reputable
source, and may not count towards your source count.
Please give a detailed explanation to the following questions, as well as other
information you think may be pertinent to the project:

â— What was the movie you chose? What was the MOVIE about? Give a brief
synopsis of the film.
â— Did the movie do a disservice to the myth? If so, how?
â— Did it accurately portray the myth?
â— If it did not accurately depict the myth, how did it differ? Why would the
filmmakers not accurately depict the actual story behind the myth? What is
the purpose of changing the story?
â— How does changing the story affect those watching the movie? Does it
matter? Should the filmmakers have included a message stating that the
story to be told was not accurate?
