Concepts to be used:

-semiotics
– Pragmatics
– Semantics
– Syntactic
-intertextuality – the relationship between texts, especially literary ones.

-intratextuality – Internal relations within a *text, in contrast to *intertextuality, which involves ‘external’ relations with other texts.

-dialogism- According to Bhaktin(the author of dialogism) everything is interconnected. EVERYTHING, and that is what dialogism means. . If something bad happens when you get out of bed in the morning and something goes wrong, you get angry and go to school and get mad at someone else and they mass this bad mood on to someone else.
Everything you say, no matter how unique it is, is connected to something that someone else has said before. What people have said before have caused you think about this thing or this new idea.
We are talking about Bhaktin, therefore we are in dialogue with Bhaktin.
Dialogue: The real definition means “meaning flowing through”. It does not mean one person talking to another.

-relativity theory – Albert Einstein, in his theory of special relativity, determined that the laws of physics are the same for all non-accelerating observers, and he showed that the speed of light within a vacuum is the same no matter the speed at which an observer travels.

-models
-Symbol/symbolic – signifier is not the direct resemblance of simplified.
-Icon/iconic – the signifier resembles the signified. (nothing is purely iconic) (it is iconic at certain places but not everywhere)
-Index/indexical –signifier directly connected to signified
-Seaussure model
-signifier –

-death of the author -Barthes’s 1967 critical essay “The Death of the Author” addresses the power of the author in reading and analyzing writing, and the power of the reader or listener and the option to more or less ignore the work’s background and focus more on the work itself. When critically viewing a writing, “the author, his person, his life, his tastes, his passions” (Barthes 383) takes the spotlight; the author is forced to take sole responsibility of the failure or success of the work. The reader has authority of the author’s work once its out.

-baphomet – The existence of good and bad withing a person, (balance)
-heteroglossia -the existence of two or more voices within a text, esp. conflicting discourses within a linguistic activity as between the narrative voice and the characters in a novel. coined by Mikhail Mikhailovich Bakhtin, Russian philosopher.
