Policy Analysis Paper (8-10 pages): Analyze social welfare policies or proposals designed to address a social problem of concern to social work.
A description of the scope and magnitude of the problem
A discussion of theories to understand the problem and/or policy debates about the problem. Include arguments that look at the problem/policy debates from different perspectives, both the pros and the cons.
A description of the current policy, including the date and level of legislation, e.g.
A published opinion or evaluation of the potential impact of this policy on the well-being of the target population, answering the question, “Is it working?†If it is not working, include your opinion about what might work better.
