Popular Culture Research Paper (26% of course grade)
For this paper you will select some aspect of popular culture which you find yourself fascinated by (a music form, a toy, a celebrity past or present, a fashion, a film, a TV sit-com or drama, reality TV, a video game, a sports team, etc) to analyze in a formal written piece of writing of 5-7 pages in length. Your paper should focus on demonstrating how the aspect of popular culture you selected impacts current U.S. society, on the macro or micro level, and should utilize sociological terms, concepts, and theories covered in class lecture and readings in your analysis. Please see the detailed paper guidelines listed in the Week 4 module. The paper is due on the last day of class. Late papers will incur a 10% grade deduction for each day late.
Papers will be run through Safe Assign to asses for paper similarity to other resources. Please review the National University plagiarism policy below. Any paper cited with plagiarism will incur a score of zero for the paper and a report will be submitted to the University.
