Project Reflection: Feeling Lost but Finding My Voice
This past week, after submitting our first project assignment, I took some time to reflect on how I felt while working on it with my group. It's true, there were moments, especially at the beginning, where I felt a little lost. This new group dynamic and the project itself were unfamiliar, and I wanted to make sure I was contributing effectively. However, I also felt a strong desire to participate and answer the questions to the best of my ability. So, I dove in, asking clarifying questions and offering my thoughts whenever I felt comfortable.
Looking back, I think there were some aspects of our group collaboration that worked really well. One positive element was that everyone seemed to be given a voice. During our meetings, there were opportunities for everyone to share their ideas, and I felt comfortable expressing my own thoughts even if they differed from what others had suggested. This open atmosphere helped us explore different perspectives and ultimately come up with a well-rounded approach to the project.
However, there's always room for improvement. One area where I think our group could have been more inclusive is by actively soliciting ideas from everyone at the beginning of brainstorming sessions. Sometimes, the conversation flowed quickly between a few members, and I felt hesitant to interrupt. Perhaps implementing a round-robin style discussion at the start of brainstorming sessions could ensure everyone has a chance to contribute their initial thoughts.
