      Rationale: Conducting a research paper will help you examine a topic that interests you and is related to the theme of the course. Learning from literature will encourage idea generation while you research a topic, and helps you analyze then synthesize your findings, and communicate your work clearly in written and other forms. Assessing and evaluating different research ideas from scholars in the related field is also very important for learning and helps MSc with their life-long scholarly pursuits and professional collaboration skills. Approach: The research papers for this term will revolve around either an:  Assessment of how contemporary automation products and machine technology complement organizational readiness for construction projects  Critique concepts such as modularity, productivity, efficiency, and economic performance in relation to automation in construction Detailed Instructions: • The paper should be a comprehensive review of the literature or an empirical, data-based analysis. Literature review papers need to be either systematic or critical in nature. Please refer to the link : https://guides.mclibrary.duke.edu/sysreview/types • The research paper should be submitted in one of the following journals or similar Scopus indexed journal or conferences (acceptance, or lack there off, is not within the course scope): a) Automation in construction journal b) International Journal of Project Management c) Journal of Construction Engineering and Management – ASCE d) International Journal of Construction Management e) A relevant conference of your choice within the course timeframe • For paper preparation please check the following link and use the necessary tools: https://www.elsevier.com/authors/policies-and-guidelines/latex-instructions • Cite at least ten references; up to three can be review papers, at least four need to be from the primary, peer-reviewed literature. • Find the most authoritative and/recent sources. If the sources don’t have accessible full text speak up ASAP and we can request help from the library. • Use library print source; and order paper(s) through interlibrary loan, if it is crucial to your research. • If you find an old reference, look in Web of Science, find who has cited that paper, and follow the recent literature to see what has transpired over the years, as a result of the original reference.
