Reading and analyzing work of poetry
The primary purpose of this assignment is to allow you to read and analyze one or more works of poetry,
formulate your own creative and insightful opinions on the work(s), present said opinions in a correctly
formatted multimedia presentation, and support aforementioned opinions with properly documented sources.
The completion of this assignment will also demonstrate your ability to correctly utilize GALILEO to research
and document academic sources as well as your ability to successfully create a multimedia presentation.
Additionally, your ability to successfully utilize MLA format will also be demonstrated.
TASK
3 Structural Elements of Poetry must be mentioned (Structural Elements and Literary Terms Folder).
2 Figurative/Connotative Devices must be mentioned (Structural Elements and Literary Terms Folder).
You will create a PPT/Google Slides/One Drive Presentation which analyzes a work or multiple works of poetry
that is/are listed on the syllabus. You should be creative in his/her focus. Possible focal points include, but are
not limited to, a comparison/contrast of two or more poems, thesis analysis, poetic device analysis, poetic
format analysis, setting analysis, etc. Do not simply summarize; analysis/focus must be present.
You should use a MINIMUM of one primary source (quote from the poem(s)), three textual secondary sources
from GALILEO-must be scholarly), and three images to support analysis. Two pieces of non-cited clip art are
also required.
