As stated previously, your answer must address how the Civil War and Reconstruction era are remembered. You are also more than welcome to cite any of the other course materials. An introductory paragraph and a brief conclusion that both feature a prominent thesis statement. Your thesis statement should present the argument of your paper with brevity, clarity and force. Paragraphs that begin with topic sentences; a topic sentence is a summary statement of the direction/argument of the paragraph as a whole.
