Regulation of body temperature

  select one of five examples of homeostasis (listed below) and prepare a Power Point Presentation which they will post into their assignment folder.   Examples of homeostasis (select one): 1) Regulation of body temperature 2) Maintaining blood pressure within a normal range 3) Maintaining calcium levels within a normal range 4) Regulating water levels 5) Defending against viruses and bacteria     The following components should be addressed: 1. What is homeostasis? Why is it important in human biology? 2. Describe how homeostatic regulation in your selected example occurs both physiologically and anatomically. Include body system(s) and organs that are affected. Could a lack of proper homeostatic regulation in your selected example be life-threatening? Why or why not? 3. What diseases could be produced by a lack of proper maintenance of homeostasis in your selected example? 4. PubMed or other professional journal article – you must use one article from a professional journal and include it in your presentation (it should not take up a lot of your presentation, but it should be worked in (and referenced) at some point.
