      Our exploration of religious history and tradition shifts this week to focus on Islam. As you complete the activities for this week, consider the similarities and differences among Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. After completing the readings, reflect on your understanding of the Islam religion. Respond to the following questions: What is the origin and importance of the Qur’an? What are the central beliefs of Islam, and provide examples of how they are reflected in the Five Pillars. Consider the distinct Muslim groups. How are those groups similar, and how are they different? What challenges, if any, do Islamic traditions face in a more secular world?
