Responsible citizenship

The concept of a responsible citizen very much parallels that of being an educated person. Responsible citizenship clearly requires citizens who are informed and involved. An informed citizen is an embodied knower: a person who seeks information, considers conflicting discourse, is reflective and uses critical thinking skills. Being informed suggest the person has wrestled in-depth and disconcerting perspectives, past and present, on the journey to becoming an educated person.” Northrop Frye
