1. Choose a moment in the Scientific Revolution
A moment is a point in time when an important contribution was made to the scientific method. It can cover
anything from before Galileo to today.
2. Describe the importance of the moment
3. Discuss the importance of that contribution
The evaluation criteria are:
Quality and depth of the information provided
Accuracy of the information provided
Quality of the visuals
Clarity of the visuals and of the overall deck
Strength of the argument
The argument you need to make in he assignment is that the moment you have chosen made a significant
contribution to the Scientific Revolution.
Remember that a person is not a moment. I do not want to give specific examples because I will get a slew of
assignments on the example I gave. I will give you an obscure one which none would likely consider.
Jacques Derrida is the father of post-structuralism. You cannot write about Jacques Derrida. But you can write
about when Derrida presented "Structure, Sign and Play in the Discourse of Human Science" at a Colloquium
at Johns Hopkins University and got international recognition.
